I PAGLIACCI by Ruggiero Leoncavallo and GIANNI SCHICCI by Giacomo Puccini

hartman  ivanov

"I Pagliacci" features Canio, opera’s most famous clown, and Nedda, his passionate, faithless wife, as their traveling theater troupe brings its plays to life with tragic consequences. Jeffrey Hartmann sings Canio’s “Vesti la giuba,” one of the most beloved tenor arias.

"Gianni Schicci" is light and uproarious as "I Pagliacci" is dark and gripping. This one act opera has Maksim Ivanov singing the role of Gianni Schicci, a cunning commoner who outwits a pack of greedy Florentine nobles and finagles a fortune for himself, his daughter and her lover. The well-known, beautiful aria “O mio babbino caro” is a highlight of this magical opera.
